Our WPRFM Fam

    They/them

Raised in the wilds of East St Paul, Em never fit in. They fortunately discovered punk in their early teens which helped them discover a space where they fit. Gravitating to live music the weekends were filled with first all ages gigs at the West End Cultural Center and community clubs and then on to the Pyramid, the Albert, the cavern and the many other venues that have come and gone, An early adopter of online chats they shared their love and passion for nusic, punk and community with friends all over the world.

This lead to a friendship and eventually marriage to their current partner who is originally from Texas, but their journey brought them to Baltimore where they lived for 10 years before moving back to Winnipeg with their family.

Living far away from family, friends re-enforced the need for community and fostering good things in the city that you are in. This lead to creating the WPRFM modelled after many other cities vibrant and thriving punk rock flea markets.

    She/Her

Growing up in St Vital, Carley always felt a little out of place. After moving to Toronto in her 20s, she found herself and the local punk scene. In 2020 she started a upcycling band tees into kids clothes after her first nephew was born (although having been an “auntie” to many friends kids for ages) and formed Rattle Rebel Clothing.

After meeting her Kiwi partner later that year, she packed up her bags to follow him around the world while he works internationally. Rattle Rebel Clothing took roots in Winnipeg where her super awesome mom Robbin ensures that everything keeps running while Carley’s on the road making stock for the shop! In between adventures she can be found around town, way too often rummaging through t-shirts at Value Village.

Having attended punk flea markets in the Toronto area for years, she was ecstatic to see WPRFM take birth, and quickly became friends with Em after chatting on Instagram about the market, life, and the wild turns it take us. Less than a year later, Carley’s love and enthusiasm for the WPRFM led to an invite to put her money where her mouth is and lend a hand. She might regret mentioning she’s good at Excel…..
